An international fintech organisation is expanding its Financial Crime Operations function in Sofia and is looking for CDD Analysts to join the newly established team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, conducting due diligence on international corporate clients and ensuring compliance with global AML/CTF standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial and ongoing Customer Due Diligence (CDD) on international corporate entities.
Analyse ownership structures and verify ultimate beneficial owners when required.
Perform screening of clients and counterparties for sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEPs) and negative media.
Assess and document money laundering risks associated with clients and recommend mitigation actions.
Prepare clear and concise CDD documentation for colleagues, auditors and regulators.
Communicate directly with clients to ensure the CDD process is smooth and efficient.
Escalate high-risk accounts to the Compliance team, providing recommendations for next steps.
What you bring:
Experience conducting CDD for international corporate clients.
Strong understanding of corporate ownership structures and different business types.
Ability to prepare clear CDD documentation that outlines client business activities and associated risks.
Confidence to make independent judgements, including declining applications when necessary.
Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with financial crime tools such as Lexis Nexis, World Check or Comply Advantage.
Proactive and collaborative approach, with openness to change and process improvements.
